After years away from painting, retirement has
brought me back to enjoying many things. Now I can do
what I love and let my creative side have a little fun!
The cute little guy above is Tucker, our Springer Spaniel.
My husband and I spent two years traveling in our 5th wheel doing "workamping". What an experience. I picked up rocks and began painting them for fun. I began giving them as gifts and people really liked them. Now, I can't walk by a rock without imagining what I would paint on it!!! What would you like on a rock?
In our first year of "workamping", we
met and became friends with a couple in
their early twenties who live in a converted school bus. When I commented it looked like a prison bus, they said, "why don't you paint something on it". What a challenge! So....... I did! I painted sly, clouds and Monarch
butterflies on three sides. Take a look.
My early painting began in the '70s with the "Tole" painting. However, I studied with a Texas artist and really enjoyed painting landscapes. Just a sample here!
A couple of years ago, I decided to try my hand with watercolors. Wow, so different from using oils and acrylics, but so much fun. This is a sample and my first work.
Several years ago I wanted to create gifts for loved ones that were personal and had my touch. Thus, I began painting on the back of the glass. I create the picture in reverse and paint it from the backside. That messed with my head on a few pieces, but I persevered! Here is one of the pieces!
My husband wanted a storage cabinet in our RV beside his recliner to use for his “stuff”. Great find at a flea market, but it needed a little TLC. I decided a bike theme would work well, and it turned out pretty cute!
